The No. 2 of the IMF arrives in Argentina to meet with senior officials

The organization officially announced that Gita Gopinath will travel to Argentina this week to meet with government officials.

A spokesperson for International Monetary Fund(IMF) said Tuesday in a post on social network X that the IMF’s first deputy managing director, Gita Gopinathwill travel to Argentina this week to meet with government officials.

At the beginning of February, the IMF extended the duration of the credit program for 44,000 million dollars for three months to give the new Government time to implement its economic stabilization and reserve accumulation program.

In the recent review of the agreement, new Central Bank reserve accumulation goals were established, moving to a net reserve accumulation target of $6 billion by the end of March, from a previous goal of $4.3 billion.
