The Undersecretary of Small and Medium Enterprises Daniel Mariano Ibañez presented his resignation this Monday. He did it just 20 days after taking office. Ambit was able to access the process initiated in the Electronic Document Management System (GDE). In the letter addressed to the Minister of Economy Luis Caputo and the Secretary of Industry Juan Pazo, the official assures that the decision is due to “matters of a strictly personal nature”.

The management of the State advances at a very slow pace. The appointment of officials to important positions in the various ministries is still pending. In some cases, references from the previous management even continue. Added to this is a series of resignations from people who were appointed just a few weeks ago by President Javier Milei.

The most recent case is that of Daniel Mariano Ibañez, Undersecretary of Small and Medium Enterprises, who this Monday presented his resignation from office just 20 days after taking office. Portfolio sources described it as “an important firm” due to the responsibilities that were left to that department within the Ministry of Economy

In the document addressed to the head of the Treasury Palace Luis Caputo and the Secretary of Industry Juan Pazo, the official assures that the decision is due to “matters of a strictly personal nature.”

Although in dialogue with this medium, a senior leader in the sector explained that it is a “legal and regulatory incompatibility”. From this argument it follows that if he continued in office, the official’s administrative decisions could have implied a potential conflict of interest.

Sources from the productive sector considered it as “a total improvisation” that “demonstrates an absolute ignorance of the State.” In that sense, they assured that this will delay portfolio management even more.
